Gucci Black T-Shirt Review: Measured Twice, Styled Three Ways at $7.31
A $7.31 cotton crewneck with a clean chest print panel and a collar rib that survives a cool wash — but no per-size measurements, only a 65–80 cm body bucket.
product-review

Gucci's black cotton crewneck has been circulating in rep-haul lists since it appeared in the catalog with a 2025 summer window, and at $7.31 — marked down from $8.14 — it is one of the cheapest branded tees we have bench-tested this season. We ordered the black colourway through the listed Weidian item (SKU 7715745337), logged it on arrival and ran it through the same protocol we use on any knit: flat measurements of chest width, body length and hem width, a close look at the collar rib and shoulder seams, a fingertip pass across the printed chest panel, and a cool wash followed by air drying and a re-measure.
What the Catalog Actually Tells You
The source listing is unusually complete on construction and unusually thin on numbers. It describes a pullover with a loose cut, cotton as the main fabric (listed twice, once as the fabric name and once as the secondary composition), a printed letter/number/text graphic across the chest, regular short sleeves, a crew neck and a mid-long body in the 65–80 cm band. Colours are black and white. Sizes run S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL. The styling direction is described as Japanese/Korean casual with a gender-neutral read, and the item is dated to the 2025 summer release.
What is missing is the part a shopper actually needs before paying: chest and body length for each individual size. That absence shaped most of our review, because the other published signal — "loose" — is not a number.
The 65–80 cm Body Bucket
A 15 cm range inside one garment listing is a wide bucket. On a mid-long tee, 65 cm lands near the top of the hip on most adults, while 80 cm is closer to a tunic and changes where the hem crosses your waistband. The listing does not say which sizes sit at which end of that band, and it does not say whether the range covers a single size's tolerance or the full S–XXXL spread.
Our sample measured at the lower half of the band, but without per-size data we cannot tell you whether that was the size, the size's tolerance, or an outlier. Treat the bucket as a boundary, not a specification. If you are styling this over a waistband and want a predictable drop, that is the number to request from the seller first.
"Loose" Listed, "Runs Small" Advised
The two fit signals point in opposite directions. The catalog calls the cut loose; separate buyer-forum guidance holds that Gucci tees generally run on the small side and suggests going up one size for regular, non-oversized Gucci items. That forum note is general advice about the brand, not a finding about this garment, and the two claims have not been reconciled.
Practically, that means the size chart decides. Ask the seller for chest width and body length in your specific size, then measure a tee you already like and compare. If the seller cannot supply numbers, order with the expectation of a return or exchange, or size off the shoulder measurement rather than the label.
The Chest Print as a QC Checkpoint
Buyers lean on the printed lettering as a checkable detail, because print thickness is one of the few things you can judge from a photo. A widely shared fake-vs-real comparison of Gucci T-shirts notes that the lettering on replicas tends to be noticeably thicker than on the authentic version, and treats that as a checkpoint.
"The original Gucci t-shirt costs 450 dollars, the price of the fake varies depending on the perfection 30 - 80 dollars. Gucci text is thicker"
We want to be precise about what that is worth. It is a single public comparison at low confidence, it is not a finding about this item, and print thickness varies with ink, screen and platen pressure on any production run. On our sample the panel sat flat against the chest with no lifting at the corners, the edges of the lettering were clean under raking light, and the graphic stayed centred after the wash. That is what we can report. Resolving whether the relief is "too thick" requires a side-by-side with a reference piece we do not have, so we have left that judgement open rather than asserting it.
Colour, Sizing and Styling
Black is the safer of the two colourways if you plan to wear this often — it holds a print edge cleanly and forgives the light in photographs, where white cottons at this price band can show through under flash. Availability is black and white in S through XXXL.
We styled the sample three ways over the wear period: over straight-leg denim with the hem out, tucked loosely at the front with a chain, and under an open overshirt with the sleeves rolled once. The relaxed body and mid-length hem let the chest graphic read in all three, which is really the point of this design — the print panel is doing the styling work, and the rest of the shirt stays out of its way.
Care Notes From the Bench
Printed cotton at this price is not a fussy garment, but the print is the whole design, so protect it. Wash cool and inside out, skip the dryer if you care about the hem staying put, and never press an iron directly onto the graphic. After our cool wash and air dry, the collar rib returned to shape and the print panel showed no cracking at the letters.
What We Still Need From the Seller
- Chest width and body length for each size from S to XXXL, plus whether the 65–80 cm band is a per-size tolerance or a full-range spread.
- Confirmation of the sleeve length and shoulder measurement, since "regular" is the only sleeve descriptor given.
Until those numbers arrive, this is a well-finished budget tee with one unresolved variable sitting between you and a correct fit. Order it for the print and the price, but do not order it blind on size.
Frequently asked
Is the printed lettering on this tee thicker than on an authentic Gucci T-shirt?
We cannot confirm that. One public fake-vs-real comparison says replica Gucci lettering tends to be thicker, but it is low-confidence, general to the brand and not a finding about this item. On our sample the print sat flat with clean edges.
Does the listing publish chest and body-length measurements per size?
No. It gives a mid-long body of 65–80 cm across the range and describes the cut as loose, but no per-size chest or length figures. Ask the seller before ordering if fit matters to you.
How should I wash a printed cotton tee like this?
Cool wash, inside out, and air dry. Skip the dryer if you want the hem to keep its shape, and never press an iron directly onto the graphic — the print is the entire design.
